Susan Courtney, is an actor, director, playwright and theater professor at Westchester Community College. She has studied with John Strasberg, William Hickey, and Madeleine Sherwood. She is currently working with Artistic New Directions in NYC, as an actor/writer, performing her own pieces. Recent credits include: NURSE KELLY in Out of the Box Theatre Company's production of Harvey and a leading role as ROSE, a surrogate mother of a boxer, as well as a sportscaster and Irish bartender in The Legend at Westchester Collaborative Theatre. Recent films include: Awake and The Grown-Ups with Bard College and numerous films with SVA. As a member of the Actors Studio Playwright/Directors Workshop in NYC, Susan developed her two-act play,
Girl In Blue Armchair, about the American Impressionist painter, Mary Cassatt. Through a grant from NYFA, Susan's play was produced at the Harvey Theatre in 2011.
